Genesis 2 – Sáng Thế 2

¹Như thế, trời đất và muôn vật đã được tạo thành.

¹That was the way the sky and earth were created and all their vast array.

²Và ngày thứ bảy, Thiên Chúa hoàn tất các công việc Ngài đã làm, và Ngài nghỉ ngơi không làm việc trong ngày thứ bảy.

²By the seventh day the work God had done was completed, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work he had done.

³Rồi, Ngài chúc phúc cho ngày thứ bảy và thánh hóa nó; vì trong ngày đó, Ngài đã nghỉ ngơi, ngưng tất cả việc tạo dựng Ngài đã làm.

³And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day he rested from all the work he had done in his creation.

^4aĐó là gốc tích trời và đất khi chúng đã được dựng nên.

^4aThese are the successive steps in the creation of the heavens and the earth.

Chuyện Vườn Địa Đàng

The story of Eden

^4aTrong thời gian Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa dựng nên trời và đất,

^4aOn the day that Yahweh God made the earth and the heavens,

⁵thì chưa có một bụi cây nào mọc ngoài đồng, và cũng chưa có một ngọn cỏ nào mọc lên cả, vì Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa chưa cho mưa xuống đất, và cũng chưa có người để canh tác mặt đất.

⁵there was not yet on the earth any shrub of the fields, nor had any plant yet sprung up, for Yahweh God had not made it rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the earth,

⁶Nhưng có hơi nước dưới đất bay lên tưới khắp cả mặt đất,

⁶but a mist went up from the earth and watered the surface of the earth.

⁷Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa liền lấy bụi đất nắn nên hình người, thổi hơi vào lỗ mũi; và con người trở nên sinh động.

⁷Then Yahweh God formed Man, dust drawn from the clay, and breathed into his nostrils a breath of life and Man became alive with breath.

⁸Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa trồng một vườn ở Eđen, về phía đông; và đặt con người Ngài đã dựng nên ở đó.

⁸God planted a garden in Eden in the east and there he placed Man whom he had created.

⁹Và từ đất Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa cho mọc lên những cây đẹp mắt và là thức ăn ngon, ở giữa vườn Ngài đặt cây sự sống và cây biết lành biết dữ.

⁹Yahweh God caused to grow from the ground every kind of tree that is pleasing to see and good to eat, also the tree of Life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

¹⁰Có một giòng sông từ Êđen chảy ra để tưới vườn; rồi từ đó chia ra làm bốn sông nhánh.

¹⁰A river flowed from Eden to water the garden and from there it divided to form four main streams.

¹¹Tên nhánh thứ nhất là Pishon; nhánh này chảy quanh cả vùng Havila, là nơi có vàng.

¹¹The name of the first river is Pishon. It is the one that flows around all the country of Havilah where there is gold,

¹²Vàng xứ này có phẩm chất cao; ở đó lại có nhũ hương và bính ngọc.

¹²and the gold of that country is good; bidellium and onyx stone are there.

¹³Tên sông thứ nhì là Gihon, chảy quanh cả vùng Cút.

¹³The name of the second river is Gihon. It is the one that flows around all the land of Cush.

¹⁴Tên sông thứ ba là Tigris, chảy về phía đông bờ cõi Assyria. Còn sông thứ tư là sông Euphrates.

¹⁴The name of the third river is Tigris. It is the one that flows to the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.

¹⁵Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa đem người ở vào vườn Địa Đàng (Eđen) để canh tác và giữ vườn.

¹⁵Yahweh God took Man and placed him in the garden of Eden to till it and take care of it.

¹⁶Và Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa phán rằng, “Con được tự do ăn tất cả các trái cây trong vườn;

¹⁶Then Yahweh God gave an order to Man saying, “You may eat of every tree in the garden,

¹⁷nhưng không được ăn cây biết Lành biết Dữ; vì ngày nào con ăn nó, con sẽ chết”.

¹⁷but of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, you will not eat, for on the day you eat of it, you will die.”

¹⁸Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa phán rằng, “Con người ở một mình không tốt; Ta sẽ dựng nên một trợ tá hợp với nó”.

¹⁸Yahweh God said, “It is not good for Man to be alone; I will give him a helper who will be like him.”

¹⁹Vì thế Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa lấy đất làm nên các thú vật, các chim trời, rồi dẫn đến trước mặt con người để thử xem ông đặt tên chúng ra sao, và tên nào con người đặt cho từng sinh vật, trở thành tên riêng cho nó.

¹⁹Then Yahweh God formed from the earth all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air and brought them to Man to see what he would call them; and whatever Man called every living creature, that was its name.

²⁰Con người đặt tên các gia súc, các chim trời cùng các dã thú; nhưng về phần con người, thì không tìm được một trợ tá hợp với mình.

 ²⁰So Man gave names to all the cattle, the birds of the air and to every beast of the field. But he did not find among them a helper like himself.

²¹Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa làm cho Ađam ngủ mê, và lấy một xương sườn, rồi đắp thịt vào.

²¹Then Yahweh God caused a deep sleep to come over Man and he fell asleep. He took one of his ribs and filled its place with flesh.

²²Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa dùng xương sường đã lấy từ Ađam mà làm nên một người nữ và đưa nàng đến cùng Ađam.

²²The rib which Yahweh God had taken from Man he formed into a woman and brought her to the man.

²³Khi đó Ađam nói rằng, “Người này là xương bởi xương tôi, thịt bởi thịt tôi mà ra! Nàng sẽ được gọi là ‘người nữ”, vì nàng bởi người nam mà ra”.

²³The man then said, “Now this is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken from man.”

²⁴Vì thế nên người nam sẽ lìa xa cha mẹ mà kết hợp vợ mình, và cả hai sẽ trở nên một xương thịt.

²⁴That is why man leaves his father and mother and is attached to his wife, and with her becomes one flesh.

²⁵Và cả hai, người nam và vợ ông, cùng trần truồng, và họ không xấu hổ.

²⁵Both the man and his wife were naked and were not ashamed.
