1Thiên Chúa nhớ đến ông Noe cùng các loài thú và súc vật ở trong tàu với ông, và Ngài khiến một trận gió thổi qua mặt đất, và nước dừng lại.
Water Receded
1Then God remembered Noah and all the animals and cattle that were with him in the ark. God made a wind blow over the earth and the waters subsided.
2Các nguồn của vực và các cửa trời đóng lại; và mưa trên trời không còn chảy xuống nữa.
2Then the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens were closed and the downpour from the heavens held back.
3Nước từ từ rút khỏi mặt đất một cách liên tục, và sau một trăm năm mươi ngày nước cạn nhiều.
3The waters receded from the earth and after one hundred and fifty days the waters had abated.
4Và chiếc tàu đậu lại trên núi Ararat trong tháng thứ bảy, vào ngày thứ mười bảy của tháng,
4In the seventh month, in the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested on Mount Ararat.
5Nước cứ liên tục hạ xuống cho đến tháng thứ mười; vào ngày thứ nhất của tháng, người ta có thể thấy các đỉnh núi.
5The waters continued to recede until the tenth month. On the first day of the tenth month the mountain tops could be seen.
6Sau bốn mươi ngày, ông Noe mở cửa sổ ông đã làm trên tàu,
6At the end of the forty days Noah opened the window of the ark that he had built
7Ông thả một con quạ ra; quạ bay đi bay lại cho đến khi nước khô ráo trên mặt đất.
7and let the raven out. This went off and kept flying to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
8Ông cũng thả một con chim bồ câu ra, để xem nước rút bớt trên mặt đất chưa.
8Then Noah let out the dove to see if the waters were receding from the earth.
9Nhưng chim bồ câu không tìm được chỗ đậu, nên trở về tàu cùng ông, vì nước còn ngập cả mặt đất. Ông Noe giơ tay bắt lấy con chim bồ câu, đem vào tàu với ông.
9But the dove could not find a place to set its foot and flew back to him in the ark for the waters still covered the surface of the whole earth. So Noah stretched out his hand, took hold of it and brought it back to himself in the ark.
10Rồi ông đợi bảy ngày nữa, lại thả chim bồ câu ra khỏi tàu;
10He waited some more days and again sent the dove out from the ark.
11đến chiều chim bồ câu về với ông, và này, trong mỏ nó có một lá cây dầu tươi; Ông Noe biết rằng nước đã rút bớt trên mặt đất.
11This time the dove came back to him in the evening with a fresh olive branch in its beak. Then Noah knew the waters had receded from the earth.
12Ông lại đợi bảy ngày nữa, thả chim bồ câu ra; nhưng lần này bồ câu không trở về cùng ông nữa.
12He waited seven more days and let the dove loose, but it did not return to him any more.
13Và trong năm sáu trăm lẻ một của đời ông ông Noe, vào ngày thứ nhất của tháng thứ nhất, nước đã rút, chià ra mặt đất khô; ông Noe mở mui tàu và nhìn; này, mặt đất đã khô.
13In the year six hundred and one, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the waters dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and looked out and saw that the surface of the earth was dry.
14Đến tháng thứ hai, ngày thứ hai mươi bảy, đất đã khô ráo.
14On the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was dry.
Ra Khỏi Tầu
15Thiên Chúa phán cùng ông Noe rằng,
Come out of the ark
15Then God said to Noah,
16“Hãy ra khỏi tàu, ngươi, vợ các con và các con dâu ngươi.
16“Come out of the ark, you and your wife, your sons and their wives with you.
17Hãy đem ra với ngươi mọi sinh vật, của các xác thịt, đã ở cùng ngươi, tất cả chim chóc, gia súc, các loài bò trên đất, để chúng nó sinh sản, và thêm nhiều trên mặt đất”.
17Bring out with you all flesh, that is, all the animals who are with you, all things of flesh; birds, cattle and all that crawls on the earth. Let them abound on the earth, be fruitful and increase in number.”
18Vậy, ông Noe cùng vợ ông, các con trai và các con dâu ông ra khỏi tàu cùng với ông.
18So Noah went out, with his sons, his wife and his sons’ wives with him.
19Các dã thú, loài bò sát, chim chóc cùng mọi sinh vật di động trên mặt đất tùy theo giống đều ra khỏi tàu.
19All the animals, all the birds, all that creeps on the earth, came out of the ark, one kind after another.
20Ông Noe lập một bàn thờ kính Đức Chúa. Ông bắt các gia súc thanh sạch, các loài chim thanh sạch, và dâng của lễ toàn thiêu trên bàn thờ.
20Noah built an altar to Yahweh and, taking some of all the clean animals and all the clean birds, he offered burnt offerings on it.
21Đức Chúa hưởng mùi thơm và tự nhủ rằng, “Ta sẽ không vì loài người mà chúc dữ cho đất nữa, vì tâm địa con người vốn xấu từ nhỏ; ta cũng sẽ không còn hành hạ các sinh vật như ta đã làm.
21Yahweh smelled the pleasing aroma and said to himself: “Never again will I curse the earth because of man, even though his heart is set on evil from childhood; never again will I strike down every living creature as I have done.
22Trong khi trái đất còn, thì mùa gieo giống cùng mùa gặt, lạnh và nóng, mùa hè cùng mùa đông, ngày và đêm, không bao giờ ngừng được”.
22As long as the earth lasts, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease to be.”
